q Getting up and/or putting to bed
q Use of mechanical or electrical hoist and other equipment which may be provided (each care support worker would have undergone manual handling training)
q Washing/bathing/showing including dressing and/or undressing enabling clients to maintain personal hygiene and appearance
q Oral care/grooming
q Preventative application of creams/ointments following above
q Enabling clients to access and use toilet facilities including changing of incontinence pads
q Catheter/Stoma care
q Hearing aids (checking of batteries etc)
q Assisting/prompting the use of medication and monitoring use of compliance aids such as dossette box.
q Assisting with food and drink and dealing with dietary needs
q Monitoring and observation of health condition, needs and circumstances of the client and reporting to relevant family member/manager/health professional as required
q Assisting the development of skills in task to re-establish optimum independence.
DOMESTIC SERVICES include…
q Bed making/changing of bed linen
q General spring cleaning not to include heavy tasks i.e window cleaning, shampooing of carpets etc
q Dealing with light household refuse
q Assisting with the preparation of shopping lists and shopping/accompanying to shop (using Company receipt book at all times)
q Assisting with pension collection, bill paying, banking of money
q Basic preparation of food, snacks and/or drinks
